The Babylonians used a Sexagesimal (base 60) numerical system.  This is the origin of our 60 minutes in an hour and 60 seconds to a minute. It is also the origin of the 360 degrees in a circle (60 x 6) and the equilateral triangle.  The Babylonians worshiped the Sun and the Moon along with different planets and stars. They were the originators of our modern astrology. They worshipped 36 gods and believed that numbers could be used to overpower these gods.  Priests wore amulets with a 6 X 6 grid of numbers called the magic square where each of the rows equaled 111 making the total of each side 666. The sum of the numbers 1 to 36 equals 666! More on the Ohio earthworks and Gematria
