The Mystery of California's 9,000 B.C. Del Mar Man
The skull was found in 1929 on a sea cliff by archaeologist Malcolm T. Rogers. The skull has been dated to 9,000 B.C which would make it part of California's Maritime Archaic. The primitive characteristics of the skull are consistent with other skulls found in California which were of giant size.
Malcolm Rodgers was a promoter of the Maritime Archaic migrations from the Japanese Islands and Jomon Culture. These were a light skinned people who had migrated from eastern Europe bringing their material culture with them that included charm stones, slate spears, and bone harpoons. Artifacts that are identical to what was found in Norway and subsequently in America's coastal regions from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
