Bertsch Archaeological Ancient Sun Temple (Henge) Site in Wayne County, Indiana

   Indiana Archaeologists take credit for "discovery" of a well-known Indiana archaeological site, writing a few ago, "Introducing the Bertsch Site. I posted photos and directions to the site in "The Nephilim Chronicles: A Travel Guide to the Ancient Ruins in the Ohio Valley (2010).  

Map of the Bertsch Archaeological Site done by the Indiana Geological Survey in the early 1900s.  The north temple's gateway is aligned to the Summer Solstice Sunrise while the south temple is aligned to the Equinox sunrise.

Both circular temples are clearly visible on this aerial photo from 1993.  The dots in the center of the circles are burial mounds.  Another undocumented earthwork on the northwest corner of the southern work is visible in this photo.

The once 7 foot ditches surrounding the southern work are still clearly seen in the field despite over 100 years of farming.

The north Bertsch Work has almost been completely erased by plowing, only a slight undulation in the field is still visible.
