Hopewell Burial Mound at Chain of Lakes Park in Noble County, Indiana. Partially Destroyed by Indiana University Archaeologists

A hiking trail passes right in front of this burial mound at Chain of Lakes Park.   It is so overgrown in the summer; most would walk right by it. See it in the winter. This is another burial mound dug into by the notorious IPFW archaeological school from Fort Wayne. The large hole on the top is their work. The artifacts and skeletal remains were stolen and at last word were with the lead archaeologists who is still "studying" them. Simple grave robbing. There are 85 mound and earthworks in Indiana with only three preserved by the Indiana Historical Society.
