The Wayne County, Indiana Ancient Adena Mound Builders Square

Lidar image shows the Adena square located near Fountain City, in Wayne County.  The walls were originally 780 feet in length. The original map of the earthwork that was featured in a history of Wayne County was incorrect in that the earthwork was parallel to the road.

A slight swell in this field is all that remains of the earthen embankments.
