The Many Large Burial Mounds Around Newark, Ohio
Most of the large burial mounds in Ohio are designated as "Address Restricted." In the Nephilim Chronicles: A Travel Guide to the Ancient Ruins in the Ohio Valley," I photographed 25 of these "Address Restricted" mounds and give historical details, photos, and directions to the sites. For a sneak peek of these mounds, see them here. I photographed 121 mounds and earthworks in Ohio. Many of them are address restricted.
A few miles south of Newark is the Jacksontown Adena Mound
Located in a Newark public park is the Infirmary Adena Mound
Located a little west of the Newark Earthworks is the Evans Adena Mound.
A little south of I-70 is the large Perry Adena Mound
Soon to be open to the public is the Adena hilltop ceremonial center called "Glenford Fort."
A stone wall enclosed the hilltop that includes this stone causeway to enter the site.
About a mile south of Glenford is the Wilson Effigy mound.
