The large Adena mound is encircled by a ditch and earthwork identical to what is found with the burial mounds in England constructed by the Beaker People (Amorites).

One of the several platform mounds that can still be seen in this complex and is evidence that the Dakota Sioux Hopewell inhabited this site until the Mississippian Era.
