   Fort Ancient is Ohio's largest hilltop enclosure with over 3 miles of earthen walls that average about 12 feet in height, enclosing 126 acres of land. Words, maps or even photos don't relay the size and enormity of this site.  While it called a "fort" it was, in fact, a ceremonial center. It has many of the elements of the more geometric works in Ohio with parallel walls or sacred vias, solar and lunar alignments with other elements that are more unique. 

   A Woodhenge was recently discovered at the site. This type of structure was also found at the Stubbs geometric earthwork near there and another was found at Cahokia. Of course, this is a much more common find in Northern Germany and the British Isles. The daub houses that were constructed by the Ohio mound builders is also more reminiscent of Bronze Age Europe. According to archaeologists, later Native Americans who resided at the site lived in the more primitive wigwams.

    What one asks when looking at this massive site is, "why?" Why did they build it, for what purpose would they engage in such a monumental endeavor? For whatever reason, the explanations of how it was built by the archaeologists are even more puzzling. According to archaeologists, " Fort Ancient features 18, 000 feet of earthen walls built 2, 000 years ago by American Indians who used the shoulder blades of deer, split elk antler, clam shell hoes and digging sticks to dig the dirt. They then carried the soil in baskets holding 35 to 40 pounds. Portions of the walls were used in conjunction with the sun and moon to provide a calendar system for the peoples."

   Yes, it's a calendar, but the same result can be achieved with a stick in the ground.  There is something much more going on here. It is not my goal to unveil the secrets of Fort Ancient in this article and accompanying video, but to show that the current theories are ridiculous.

 Socketed weapons were not invented until about 1500 B.C in Babylon and would fall within the timeline of the Amorites in the Levant and England. We are to believe that this advanced weapons technology just shows up at the exact same time?  More unbelievable is that it disappears at the same time that the industrial scale mining of copper at Lake Superior ends. More evidence of cultural diffusion is found in the swastika that is found within the Ohio burial mounds.

   In 1856, Dr. Thomas Reynolds of Brockville exhibited to the Canadian Institute a collection of copper and other relics discovered in thar neighborhood under singular circumstances; and possessing a special interest owing to the distance of the site from Lale Superior.  They included a peculiarly-shaped chisel or gouge, six inches in length, a rude spearhead, seven inches long and two small daggers or knives all wrought by means of the hammer, out of native copper which had never been subjected to fire, as is proven by the silver remaining in detached crystals in the copper.  This ancient Indian art is now entirely lost.

  They were found at the head of Les Galops Rapids, on the river St. Lawrence, about fifteen feet below the surface, along with twenty skeletons disposed in a circular space with their feet toward the center. Dr. Reynolds remarks of them: “Some of the skeletons were of gigantic proportions.

Spoked burial is found in numbers in both New York Ohio Valley and in Wiltshire, near Stonehenge.  Many times, the skeletons are described as "gigantic."  This type of burial would have required that the skeletons be placed in the mound at the same time.  The only conclusion is that they were slain in a military conflict.  Note in the burial above that a few of the skeletons have their head placed between their knees.  These must have been placed in the mound to serve as slaves in the afterlife.

  Middle Bronze Age weapons technology of tanged daggers and socketed spearheads are found in the Upper Great Lakes associated with the Copper Culture.  Is it by chance that this technology arrives in North America at the same time the Isle St. Royal copper was being extensively mined.  Over 50,0000 tons of copper mined from this region has never been accounted for; where did it go?
